What Up Party People,

His early influences included the great Cuban vocalists Beny Moré and Miguelito Cuní (b. 8 May 1920, Pinar del Río, Cuba, d. 5 March 1984, Havana, Cuba). Santiago started his professional career singing with trios and playing bass and guitar. After stints with the bands of Chuíto Vélez, Willie Rodríguez and Willie Rosario, his career really took off when he joined Ray Barretto's band. Between 1966 and 1972, Adalberto made seven studio albums with Ray Barretto. In late 1972, Adalberto and four other members of Barretto's band departed to found Típica 73. He appeared on three of their albums before disagreement over musical direction led him, and three other band members, to split during the mid-70s to form Los Kimbos. Meanwhile, Santiago sang lead vocals on two critically acclaimed charanga albums, Fantasía Africana/African Fantasy and Our Heritage - Nuestra Herencia, by flautist, composer and producer Lou Pérez....[ Ссылка ]
PS; Tomorrow night I'll be at La Fama Times Square, 9:30pm, at Dardo Galletto Studios, for our weekly Salsa Practice Social (Strictly Salsa with some Cha Cha!). You can RSVP here for Reduced Admission (Pay 10.00 instead of the 12.00 General Admission). [ Ссылка ]
It's still a new event so don't show up by yourself and get mad if no one is there. I'm counting on your guys to bring your friends/dance partners...or just come by yourselves and enjoy the great music. If 10 people show up by themselves and stay for a while then that's how the place will get packed. But don't show up and expect it to "already" be busy. Either way, it's a nice chill environment, beautiful dance floor, good A/C system and cozy bar, all in the VERY CONVENIENT Times Sq area.
I apologize for not really promoting this party (apparently, in 2015, Facebook, email, twitter, tumblr, and instagram isn't enough in terms of "promoting" and getting the word out....) more but I'm super busy working and Djing and Shooting photography; plus traveling to Cali (and replacing my PC with an iMac for editing) two weeks ago set me back in terms of being caught up with work. So give me a couple more weeks to get my usual promotional groove back. Also, this party is basically a not for profit event. I'm not making any money on it (the expenses are already way over), so any money made on it goes right back into the next one (Salsa Parties aren't profitable, but that's not why I'm doing this, If you haven't already realized, this is a labor of love).... I'm also doing Session 73 (1st Avenue and 73rd st) Monday Nights. That event at Session is free for all of August. We're just trying to get some Salsa heads in there again. Even though people are out of town we've been getting some people in there. Nothing to brag about but the feed back has been nice. So come by, get your Salsa groove on! Get out there and dance people!
See you guys there!
