A compilation of 9.28am standby junctions from ITV Schools in Autumn 1986, recorded in the Tyne Tees region - with some brief glimpses of Tyne Tees continuity.
The slides that term came from the Cadbury's National Exhibtion of Children's Art, and on Mondays and Fridays the Central announcer gave the artwork and its creator a credit during the first junction, as we see here. Most of these clips are from Monday mornings.
You will see that part of the first announcement isn't heard, as Tyne Tees were flexible about when they joined the standby sequence, depending on the length of their local news bulletin. They realised their error here, and joined network at 9.28 sharp on most Mondays for the rest of the term - Central also delayed making their announcement in subsequent weeks, to give regions more time to opt-in flexibly.
Most junctions aren't in full. When clearing tape space in the late 80s, I re-recorded most of my schools material and chose only to keep one example of each slide - and in most cases I didn't keep the clock countdowns - which I now regret!
The music heard is Like Clockwork and Round the Clock, by Errol Reid and Jim Stokoe.
