Police are asking the public if they recognize a trio of robbers caught on video falling all over each other as they robbed a Popeye's restaurant in Beaumont's west end on Dec. 31, 2023.
Surveillance video captured the scene as the three armed, hooded and masked robbers ran into the Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen in the 6400 block of Phelan Blvd at about 8:50 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
As the first robber enters and tries to head behind the counter they slip and fall to their knees with the second robber slipping and falling right on top of them.
The Beaumont Police Department refer to the trio as "3 stooges" in a Facebook post asking the public for help in identifying them. Commenters on the police department's Facebook post seemed quite amused by the video with one referring to it as "slippery situation."
All three robbers are wearing dark clothing including long sleeve jackets with hoods and masks.
Police say the three, who were armed with handguns, threatened employees and demanded cash.
The three arrived and left in a blue car that can be briefly seen outside the door in the first part of the video.
