This is soo embarrassing to admit, I have always thought I was smart enough to figure out when something is a scam or not, but I guess not. I fell for a secret shopper scam, also known as the mystery shopper scam, and almost lost $2500 in the process. Thankfully I listened to my intuition and mostly to my parents who did some searching and I figured things out. I was so scared! They were threatening me, saying they know where I live, etc. It was so shocking because this secret shopper scam came from a Linkedin connection that was within my network! And I had to apply to fit, so it all seemed so real. I was able to notice some serious red flags though throughout it all - hope this experience helps you too. Enjoy this I got scammed storytime.
