QuietCool - Indoor Air Quality - Part 2
Let’s look at the science behind IAQ, and why having a clean indoor air environment is so critical to your health.
To put it simply, healthy indoor air quality depends on three main variables;
The existence of particulate matter such as smoke, odors, pet dander, VOC gases, dust, bacteria, and viruses
Humidity and temperature
& Air movement within the entire home
Now, let’s look at these separately.
First, every home is prone to a variety of indoor air pollutants. Whether you burn the popcorn, smoke in the home, have four dogs and three cats, have a sick family member, recently painted a nursery, or use aerosol products such as hair spray or air fresheners, you are going to have a house full of pollutants.
I know, I know… this sounds like the side effects on a drug commercial,
but these are serious issues that are far too common in homes across the country.
The second element is humidity and temperature. The EPA notes that high indoor temperature and humidity – especially humidity – can provide a breeding ground for organic materials such as mold and airborne pathogens.
Proper ventilation is the only solution that can rid your home of these problems. Changing your air conditioning filter helps, but it does not eliminate these problems from your home completely.
Some of you may be thinking “well what about my outdoor allergies coming in from the outdoor air?”
Thankfully there are a number of manufacturers that have created window screens that can filter over 90% of pollen.
The science is simple. Poor indoor air quality is commonly found in homes that do not have enough ventilation. Conversely, healthy indoor air quality is best achieved in a well-ventilated home that exchanges stagnant indoor air with fresh outdoor air. This is why the CDC and John Hopkins say that increasing your ventilation is one of the best things you can do to stay healthy in your home.
By adding a QuietCool to the home, and running it for a few hours a day,
you will completely change the volume of air in the home once every 3 to 4 minutes. This helps to push out bacteria, airborne pathogens, and viruses out of your home to keep your family safe.

how to achieve healthy indoor air quality. Until next time, Stay Cool, QuietCool.
