Y Carneddau are a compact mini-range of (relatively) low hills rising to the northeast of Builth Wells... whose outstanding feature is a wealth of prehistory. Here, upon the northern slopes are two Bronze Age cairns, the southern of which is mighty indeed... (see separate video clip for the grass-covered northern of the pair)
As I sat and pondered 'stuff' a group of moronic 'trail-bikers' appeared, one of whom actually rode over the cairn but a few feet away from me in an apparent attempt to intimidate. The Citizen Cairn does not cower to such fools - however, the thought arises: we've all seen the news with hordes of well-to-do 'activists' protesting upon Salisbury Plain. But who will stand up for monuments such as these, where the luvvies would not consider venturing? Before they are gone. Will you?
