(24 Apr 2018) Weighing the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, President Donald Trump warned Iran on Tuesday not to restart its nuclear program. "If they restart their nuclear program, they will have bigger problems than they've ever had before," Trump declared.
Trump issued the cautionary statement alongside French President Emmanuel Macron in the Oval Office, where they two allies were discussing the Iran nuclear deal, the crisis in Syria and a number of issues during their meetings at the White House.
"You can mark it down, if they restart their nuclear program, they will have bigger problems than they've ever had before," Trump said.
One of Macron's main objectives during his three-day visit to Washington was to persuade Trump to stay in the deal. Trump remains undecided but reminded his French counterpart of the flaws in the agreement, which he called a "terrible deal" the failed to address ballistic missiles or Iran's activities in Yemen or Syria.
