A Renton community is in mourning after a teen's death at the hands of gun violence. Classmates and friends described their memories of the 15-year-old victim at a memorial on Sunday as police work to piece together what happened.
The shooting was reported around 4 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Camas Avenue Northeast in Renton. A group of Renton teenagers are now facing the reality of losing a close friend and classmate.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office was not open Sunday to confirm the victim's name, but friends told KOMO News the 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed was a Renton High School student.
Police said a 16-year-old called them to report that he had shot someone, though details of what happened are still unclear.
