High triglycerides on your cholesterol blood work are really common! If you have high triglycerides your doctor will advise you if you need to go onto medication, or you can try to modify your levels with lifestyle. High triglycerides are associated with disease like diabetes, fatty liver, obesity and metabolic syndrome. They are thought to increase the risk of heart disease and very high levels can cause problems with the pancreas. It is not all bad news though! Triglyceride levels can be manipulated with adjustments to your lifestyle.
