3 1/2 cup bread flour
1 1/4 cup whole milk (Luke warm)
60ml water (Luke warm)
3 tbsp half melted butter (not very runny) just soft.
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
3tbsp white sugar
1 1/2 tbsp Instant yeast
*extra 2 tbsp flour (when it’s needed)
Method:
In a stand mixer,Combined bread flour,instant yeast,salt and sugar,mix a bit.
Meanwhile warm the milk (Luke warm) then add it in the flour mixture and mix for about 1 minute then add the Slightly beaten egg and butter mix and Then add the water slowly. The dough has to be sticky but not to sticky so the extra 2 tbsp flour is to when the dough is very sticky and needed. I mixed mine for 8 minutes until the dough sticks up to the mixer hook,but still soft. Put butter on your hands or oil so the doughy won’t stick when you get it out. Knead the dough by hands for another few minutes(3 to 5 more minutes)
Let it rest for 40 minutes. Knead platten for 2 to 3cm thick and cut or shape.I have doughnut cutter but I needed whole donut so I used Belgian beer glass 😂 to cut my dough.rest it again for another 30 minutes.
I fried my donut 180C 40 sec each side (yes I used timer) and turn and turn again until it’s brown. The heat of the oil has to be always exact or not too hot or very low else your dough will be oily or burnt. Use thermometer if u have any keep it in the oil or better if you have electric fryer.
Then use paper towels for excess oil.
Note: The baking pan you are using to put your shaped dough has to have some flour on it so the dough won’t stick to the bottom and itll be easy to get when ready to fry.
DO NOT OVER CROWDED THE frying pan or whatever you are using 😬
There you go! I am not a pro donut maker lol am self taught when it comes to baking so not sure if I explained everything correctly but that’s how mine done. It’s just I can feel the dough when it’s on its right consistency. I am not sure if other people has the same feeling lol but I do when am cooking or baking.
