Using a chainsaw and power tools, artist Michelle Thevenot transforms a spruce log into a taxidermy-inspired wall-mounted sculpture of a white-tailed buck. Real antlers were attached to the carving using metal dowels and glue.
To fit the composition on the log, it was carved in an unnaturally upright position until the final wall-mount angle cut was made.
Finished with torch char, hand-painted stain, and outdoor oil-based sealer.
