How It Works: Using an Internet Cafe in Taipei
Just show up at QTime and let them know what type of room your looking for. In the pictures, I’m using a “box,” which is a private cubicle you can sleep in for 1 person. They have a “Japan Box” that can fit 2 people.
If you’re planning on staying for at least 5 hours, it would be worth it to grab a membership, otherwise you can go with the non-member rates.
After you let them know what your preference (non-member/member/room type), they will take your ID and someone will escort you to your cubicle.
They’ll make sure it’s clean and everything is in working order. If you need any help, they can provide it. Feel free to bust out Google Translate if you’re having any issues.
The Box Experience at QTime
QTime’s Internet Cafe “Box” rooms have a gaming computer, TV, DVD player and cable box. There’s 1 light above you and can be turned off with a switch. The room has 1 electrical outlet and 1 USB outlet along the wall next to the light switch.
My height is 5’8″ and I could sleep in the Taipei internet cafe box without any issues. While laying flat, my head and toes didn’t touch the walls…but it was close. You’ll definitely have some issues if you’re any taller.
