Russia’s war against Ukraine continues as Moscow’s forces target infrastructure across the nation in an effort to use plummeting winter temperatures as a weapon. It comes as Ukraine consolidates its control in both Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, retaken after Russian forces pulled out nearly two weeks ago, leaving a population coming to terms not just with eight and a half months of often brutal occupation, but the damage left behind in the Russians’ wake as they left. Our team on the ground went to meet some of those people.
