Kickle Cubicle for the NES is one of my favorite puzzle games of all time. In it you control Kickle who wakes up and finds his homeland, the Fantasy Kingdom, frozen by a Wizard King. He soon finds out also that the King imprisoned the Kingdom's subjects in Dream Bags. So naturally Kickle sets out in each of the four lands of the Kingdom to free the people. It's an interesting story and sets the stage perfectly for the game. The four lands are Garden, Fruit, Cake and Toy with each having a boss to fight at the end. Kickle Cubicle was the first memorable action puzzle game that I played and I was addicted to it. I loved how you could freeze and push foes to build bridges or set up barriers for protection or directing foe movements. It was so much fun figuring out how to get the Dream Bags on each frozen island, especially when there were some parts of the island where you couldn't set up barriers or had to use hammers and springs. Another notable aspect is the cinemas where you got to the end of the four lands and the boss stronghold is shown. For example, in Garden Land, a beanstalk grows and you ride it up into the clouds where there is a pumpkin castle where Koke the Chicken resides. I've always liked those. All in all, Kickle Cubicle is one of the best puzzle games that I played.
Oh yeah, as an added bonus for those who beat the game, they can play the "Special Game" which has 30 harder levels. The first time I got to play the Special Game, I couldn't believe it. After beating the Wizard King and watching the ending, I wanted more and I was given more. The extra 30 levels did not disappoint me and was very satisfying to play!
