SLOW Fashion is a movement attempting to help us realise how damaging the FAST fashion industry is to the environment.
With this event we highlight and showcase many alternative options from buying second hand and vintage to entirely handmaking your own outfits from preloved and reused materials.
The majority of the events outfits were supplied by Beatnik Emporium, Southampton's wonderful vintage/second hand store as were many of the models.
Repairing your clothing rather than disposing of torn garments is another fantastic option to get the most out of your favourite outfits and save wastage! You will hear from Ruth from Sew Ruthless and the Southampton Repair Cafe towards the end of this video.
Other features of the day were the swap shop, donation station for refugees, block printing and a video showing XR's take on Toxic which features briefly at the end of this vid.
