Here you have (probably) everything recorded for "The History Of Digital Music" The Originals, The Edits, One Demo, A Rarity and Hardy Fox explaing "T.H.O.D.M"It took me endless of studying and re-listenings, and to be faithful to the original 1985 recordings werent easy as i only studied pure analogue recordings a few years in my early teens. "T.H.O.D.M" I and II from "Liver Tunes" i used edit-pieces to repair intro and outros, and
adjusteted just barely. "T.H.O.D.M" III is the "Stranger Than Supper" version cause that one also sounds closer to the 1985 recordings, though i had to add that extended outro from "Chicken Scratching" to make it the complete version. It`s carefully edited, near zero EQ and only setting a balance in tracklist and dynamics, you can hopefully hear i try to be faithful as can be. The radio special needed a little fine balancing to it, but no noise reductions at all !The fact it`s FINALLY gathered in one place for the first time, will please all fans i hope !All a labour of love of The Residents, i hope it will be perfect to all listeners as i used hours
and hours planning, assembling, re-assembling and going through it all (too) many times !Are there any speculation if more exists.....some might have ended up elsewhere in The Residents incredible catalogue, if you know something or speculate, tell me in the comments !
SOURCES USED:
Track 1 and 2 are from "Liver Music" (with small edits from "Land Of Mystery") Track 3 are from "Stranger Than Supper" (with coda from "Chicken Scratching") Track 4 to 8 are from a "Cryptic Corporation" Radio-Special WHS radio 5th of June 1987)
And as a bonus :
Track 9 to 11 are from "Land Of Mystery" these are highly edited versions of I,II and III. 12 are a reconstructed/rework/remix i did, i hope it`s a fitting finale and a farewell to Hardy Fox (I worked feverly on it right after his death) First Two "The History Of Digital Music" Recorded in Berkeley, CA September 1985.
