This is an arrangement of the traditional Scottish tune "Annie Laurie," realized here in piano score form, but written for voice and piano. Upon listening to this version, I am tempted to make one small but very significant change in he last few measures--and add a measure to lengthen the closing phrase. Let me set this work aside and come back to it with a fresh ear in a month or so. Note that I veer away often from the traditional chords usually associated with this melody. Meanwhile, the work is intended for after a curtain call--to end a concert on a particularily touching note.
