Queen Letizia of Spain made a stylish statement today as she marked the commencement of the school year in Santiago de Compostela. Her Majesty, aged 50, exuded elegance in a striking and tasteful ensemble during her visit to a school in northwestern Spain.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia donned a Parisian-inspired, striped white and navy jumper featuring three-quarter-length sleeves and a high neckline. In a departure from her usual hairstyle, she opted for a low ponytail, parting her brunette locks and slicking some hair to the side.
The Queen tucked her jumper into a pair of sophisticated navy suit trousers, accentuating her waist with the addition of a belt. To complete her look, she selected a pair of Carrie Blue Suede Sling Back heels from Isabel Abdo. Her choice of jewelry included three silver diamond hoops in each ear, while her makeup was natural with her signature smoky eye shadow.
During her visit to the school, Queen Letizia was seen in good spirits as she toured the premises alongside dignitaries such as the Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría, the President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, and the President of the Parliament of Galicia, Miguel Ángel Santalices.
Today's visit was to the CEIP Plurilingüe do Camiño Inglés school, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. The school's director, Francisco Ávila, expressed his view that the Queen's visit was a unique opportunity to highlight the institution's work, as reported by local media outlet La Vanguardia.
In recent months, Queen Letizia has had a busy schedule, which included a trip to Australia to support her national women's football team in their World Cup victory and bidding farewell to both of her daughters. King Felipe and Queen Letizia now find themselves with an empty nest, as their youngest daughter, Infanta Sofía, 16, relocated to Wales last month. Meanwhile, their eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, 17, embarked on her journey to a military academy in accordance with tradition, following in the footsteps of her father, King Felipe.
