RSI is one of the most-used technical indicators. This momentum oscillator helps determine if price action is oversold or overbought by considering the momentum (size and direction) of the price bars used in the calculation. Combining these values gives an overall view of the momentum and conveniently scales this to a bounded range of 0-100, making it ideal for algorithmic traders to use in rules-based trading strategies.
