First, I have to say that you won't need to buy a special remote control to be able to control both the TV and Soundbar or home theatre. I found this solution accidently but trying the HDMI cable. If you have watched my other tutorials on how to connect the soundbar to TV using Aux, Optical or HDMI cable, you already know how to connect. The most important thing that I missed was that by using HDMI cable and connecting it to your HDMI TV ARC on both the soundbar/home theatre and the TV, you could control your soundbar's volume by using your TV's remote control!

If you still can't control your soundbar using your TV's remote control, please make sure you've connected an HDMI cable that supports ARC, that's HDMI version 1.3/1.4 and higher!
