Happy World Refugee Day 2020 from all of us here at GCV. Today is a chance for us to continue raising awareness and uplifting refugee voices such as Suud Olat who was born in a refugee camp in Kenya. He is now running for city council in Minneapolis. This day is also about educating and recognizing the efforts being made by various organizations including CAPI USA.

Green Card Voices is a Minneapolis based, nationally growing non profit that connects immigrants and their communities through multimedia storytelling. We record the first person narratives of immigrants of all immigration statuses, and publish them in books, online and in traveling exhibits.
Our programming is designed to empower educational institutions, community groups, and individuals alike to acquire first person perspectives about immigrants’ lives, to foster empathy and build appreciation for the immigrant experience in America. Over a million and a half people have experienced our content so far.
