(10 Jul 2015) Thousands of people who marched retracing the steps of those fleeing the Srebrenica massacre arrived at the memorial cemetery in Potocari on Friday, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of what the United Nations has defined as the worst atrocity to be carried out in Europe since World War II.
On Saturday, a ceremony will be held to remember the dead and bury 136 newly identified victims who were carried into the cemetery in coffins on Friday.
Over 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed when Bosnian Serb forces overran the United Nations protected enclave of Srebrenica in July 1995, in a bloody climax to Bosnia's three and a half year long war that claimed 100,000 lives.
