Harvested by farmer Tom Bradshaw during August 2012, this spring barley is destined to make beer for Carlsberg.
In one of the most variable seasons for a decade, many farmers have had to contend with low yields harvested in difficult conditions.
But Mr Bradshaw said he had few complaints.
The malting variety Charmay shown being cut here yielded a healthy 2.9tonnes per acre, coming off the field at 16.5% moisture.
