Kap is annoyed that the Cubs don’t have a better bullpen. In this critical game, they had no one else to go to other than rookie Porter Hodge in a key eighth inning. He ended up throwing a fastball right down the middle of the plate to Nolan Arenado and he hit it back up the middle and the Cardinals took the lead.
Kap is also running out of patience with Christopher Morel. He’s not giving up on him but it’s a crime that they had no one else to turn to in the final at bat of the game. Morel had two opportunities to try and get the Cubs more runs. His 9th inning appearance and he was up in the 4th inning with the bases loaded and grounded into a double play.
