Starting with a light warm up that opens the outer body, the teaching moves straight into Sirsasana I immediately heating the spine and quieting the brain. This is followed by some Downward Dogs interspersed with Standing Poses before taking us into supine work for the first layer of upper back/dorsal spine opening. Continuing with kneeling upper back heart openers, using a variety of different props (straps, blocks and a wall) in super interesting ways to create the experience of crucial points of connection that support alert postural movement. Each pose opens to the next culminating in Sirsasana drop-backs to Viparita Dandasana.
