Welcome to episode #52 of Sounds Sick, the format, where we´re gonna present a bunch of cool and/or unusual stuff from our studio!
The videos show the sound that really let´s the amp/gear shine , in our opinion. Wether it´s a jangly clean tone or fuzzy rock sound.
Pedal Edition!
Today we are featuring the Black Russian Big Muff from Electro Harmonix.
This version of the classic Big Muff was made in the early 90s in Russia.
The Mighty Muff!
If you compare the black russian version to other muffs, it sounds a little more raw, a little stiffer, and less fizzy than for example the modern muff. Of course all of these are slight differences, but it does make quite a difference! This muff actually stays relatively tight even on higher gain settings, and it stays quite articulate, without losing too much bottom end. It is nowhere near as fat as a green russian big muff though.
Just listen for yourself!
