When one experiences pain or trauma, it is a natural inclinaton to feel insecure and unsafe within the body. We begin to make an enemy of our bodies, our vessels, ourselves— because this initial point of pain/shock to the system was never fully processed nor integrated, therefore whenever that wound is triggered by similar frequencies, we lose our grounding, our footing, our sense of well-being. Individuals who feel unsafe in their bodies often operate from the upper chakras a majority of the time (in an unbalanced manner), when what would be truly beneficial is to come out of solely the mental realms and balance the energy, REALLY get embodied: get in touch with the root, sacral, and solar plexus energy centers. With practice, persistence and trust, we can learn to feel safe in our bodies again, and instead of living a life of escape, avoidance, codependence and/or other coping mechanisms of survival, we can feel safe in both the internal and external world— as our authentic selves. We can actually thrive. 🙌🏽
