A serious incident occurred in Georgia Abkhazia conflict zone this morning. APA's Georgia bureau reports that soldiers and military equipment of CIS peacekeepers entered Ganmukhuri village of Georgia's Zugdidi region from the part of Abkhazia under the control of separatists.
They occupied youth camp in the village and detained three officers of Georgian Interior Ministry. Shota Utiashvili, chief of Georgian Interior Ministry's analytical-information department said that Georgian police were severely beaten.
Having received information about the incident, Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili along with Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, mayor of Tbilisi Georgi Ugulava and special troops of Interior Ministry left for the site by helicopter.
The special troops fired a warning shot, entered the camp, disarmed the Russian soldiers and freed the Georgian police.
President Mikhail Saakashvili addressing the Russian soldiers demanded Sergei Chaban, commander of CIS peacekeeping forces in Georgia-Abkhazia zone to leave Georgia in three or four days.
"Our patience is exhausted. We ordered to use all means in order to protect ourselves in case of next attack. You know that we have such means. If it is repeated, you will cause a great conflict between Georgia and Russia. I warn you that provocations will be prevented. We are too resolute. Do not forget it," he said.
Mikhail Saakashvili said that they expect Russia to apologize for the incident.
Demanding the peacekeepers to leave Ganmukhuri village immediately, the president returned to Tbilisi.
