A short video, on how to take apart this laptop. It is one of the easiest laptops I have worked on. But if your not a seasoned repair tech you will miss some of the simple steps, in order to remove the main shell. I had to take this laptop apart for my son, as the APU's fan is known for failing, which it did. You can spend cost to $60 on the Fan directly from HP or you can do your research and get it for cheap.
This laptop is easy to upgrade but the main downfall is the APU (CPU and GPU) combo. Unless you get the A10 or A12 APU, you will be limited. Besides that, it has 2 SO-DIMM memory slots upgradable to 16 GB total. You can also upgrade the hard drive to an SSD for increase performance and reduce load times. Besides that what you ordered or bought is what you get.
Hope this short video can provide some insight, for a more detailed teardown there is a similar laptop guide on ifixit.com, it is not the same exact model but has close to the same steps.
