Come and join me for the Munich City walk tour, let explore Munich iconic and historic places.
Munich Residence:
The Munich Residence served as the seat of government and residence of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings from 1508 to 1918. What began in 1385 as a castle in the north-eastern corner of the city (the Neuveste, or new citadel), was transformed by the rulers over the centuries into a magnificent palace, its buildings and gardens extending further and further into the town.
Odeonplatz:
Odeonsplatz is at the same time the northern boundary of the pedestrian zone and the starting point of Ludwigstrasse.

The classicist building of the Feldherrnhalle offers a beautiful view of Odeonsplatz and Ludwigstrasse. Your steps are a perfect meeting place on sunny days. The building itself is a replica of the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence.
On behalf of Ludwig I, it was completed by Friedrich von Gärtner in 1844 and built in honor of the Bavarian army. Two large lions made of Lasa marble stand on the trellis of the stairs. Inside the hall are bronze statues of Count Tilly and Prince Wrede as well as the Bavarian Army Memorial.

If you look to the left from the steps of the Feldherrnhalle, the imposing facade of the Theatinerkirche St. Kajetan is built. It was created in the late 17th century in the style of the Italian late baroque.
The pale yellow exterior facade, which can be seen from afar, is particularly striking. In addition to the two large towers and the mighty dome, the interior is particularly impressive: it is richly decorated with stucco work and Corinthian column elements and is mainly kept in white.

The Hofgarten borders the Odeonsplatz in the east and can be reached through the Hofgartentor, which is well worth seeing. The gate was the first building by the legendary architect Leo von Klenze. Behind it there is an oasis of calm, because the noise of the city only comes in muffled. The Temple of Diana stands in the center of the former Renaissance garden.
In summer, musicians often play here and entice Munich residents and visitors to dance. The boules players, who meet here regularly, have long been part of the flair of the park.
KRIEGERDENKMAL WAR MEMORIAL IN MUNICH
the memorial composition is made like a stone crypt. The giant right-angle plate of 2 m thick centered on four corner-based stones. The West and East sides are architecturally accompanied by another four stones each with an anaglyph of an armed warrior. Facing the Bavarian State Chancellery, the close-in side of the upper plate has the SIE WERDEN AUFERSTEHEN - 'The Will Revive' inscription. The reverse side has the UNSEREN GEFALLENEN - 'To our Fallen' words.
