A tour of the massive UNESCO World Heritage fortress castles of England's King Edward I in Wales. The four castles (Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Conwy, and Harlech) were built in the 1280s and 1290s as Edward sought to solidify his grip on the area after a series of rebellions. But his expensive wars with Scotland (against William Wallace, ie Braveheart) meant that he ran out of money for building, and only Beaumaris was ever completed.
The castles are incredible to see and great fun to explore, despite the inclement Welsh weather! Note as well that all of the flags in the video are flying at half-mast; this was filmed the day after the horrible bombing in Manchester.
