On a camping trip with Ken and her parents in the early 1980s, Joni Eareckson Tada noticed as her dad picked up a piece of driftwood and began carving it. Ken snapped a photo of the scene, and it sparked Joni's creativity.
The photo inspired Joni to render a line drawing of the image, titling it, "My Father's Creation" as a testament to the way God carves away the sin in our lives with the "knife" of his Word.
Her reference verse was Hebrews 4:12, "For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
