2006 Saturn VUE 3.5 V6 AWD with a rotted out subframe. I do not weld very well and that is the proper way to repair this rust, by boxing in some new metal. I bought this car new and it has only 112k miles so we would hate to take it to the junkyard since it still runs good. The labor to have it repaired is most likely more than the value of the car. I plan to chop out the subframe bushing bolt and run a longer bolt up through the frame to help hold it in place. The area with the rotted mount will be replaced with a couple blocks of HDPE plastic for spacers so that the longer bolt doesn't pull the subframe too close to the frame.
