Epiphone (in collaboration with Gibson Custom Shop) continues to better align its parent brand, Gibson, through a collaborative "inspired by Gibson" line of acoustic and electric guitars. Many may know of the 1959 Epiphone Les Paul Reissue model, a classic and critically acclaimed vintage reissue models. Recently, Epiphone released a newer version, the 1961 Les Paul Reissue. Featuring Gibson pickups, a satin finish, patina'd hardware and historical lines, it provides some of the custom shop vintage guitar experience at a fraction of the price. The 1961 Les Paul, later known as the SG is a classic electric guitar. But does this Epiphone guitar live up to the experience of other acoustic and electric Gibson guitars?
