Through this talk the audience will be introduced to the diversity of Australian ticks, their ecology and medical importance, as well as how ticks can be managed by individuals and public health authorities to minimize their impacts on communities.

This was an excellent presentation about ticks in Australia and the impact they have on people. There was a great chat after highlighting the need to investigate what exactly is making many patients sick in Australia where so far there have been no Borrelia Burgdorferi USA or Europena species of Lyme found in Australian ticks. It outlines there are borrelia and other infections in ticks and what might be some ideas to find some truth as to why so many get sick, many have bullseye looking rashes after a bite and have tested positive to Lyme but have not left Australia. Still many answers to determine.
