Learn how using several layers in non-monolithic online applications are used to provide enhanced security. An application firewall can be used to protect each layer independently. The UI (User Interface or Web Layer) , BLL (Business Logic Layer or Application Layer), and DAL (Data Access Layer or Database Layer). A multi layer architecture allows users to users interact only with the UI layer, which then interacts only with the BLL, and the BLL calls the DAL for data access requests. Security can be enforced at each level with different level of checks to provide an end to end application security stack.
