The achievement comes after the 36-year-old Serbian won his third French Open final on Sunday in Paris.
Djokovic beat Norwegian Casper Ruud in straight sets.
The men's world number one previously shared the title of most Grand Slams won with Rafael Nadal.
Meanwhile in the women's event, Iga Świątek also claimed her third French Open win on Saturday for her fourth Grand Slam win.
The world number one-seeded Polish player beat unseeded Czech Karolína Muchová in a third-set comeback after winning her first set and losing her second.
