Horton’s Kids Elementary Program Director Shandell Richards and her team approached devising a virtual learning plan by being honest with themselves about their own limitations having never before relied on technology alone to engage their youth. As such, the Horton’s Kids team rolled out their virtual learning plan in phases in order to be successful. Their first phase prioritized engaging youth quickly by using platforms students were already familiar with, like social media, and then building capacity later in phases two and three.
