Things I failed to mention:
1. The lids are made in China for a company based in the USA to their specifications. Quality control is in the hands of the company ForJars.
2. Use these lids exactly as you would use Ball/Kerr/Bernardin liods, meaning DO NOT BOIL OR SIMMER THE LIDS. Simply wash and dry them.
