This video shows the first spawning of elkhorn corals in the Limones Reef, Mexico (Caribbean coast) in 2015. The reef-building corals started to release their millions of egg-sperm bundles in the third night after the full moon (3.-4. of August 2015).
In this video you can also see scientists, collecting egg-sperm bundles with nets. These divers are participants of the SECORE workshop on coral reproduction and reef restoration at the UNAM field station in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
