Mr. Nicolas Daoust, well known for his Crypt of the Necrodancer 'Real Voice Shopkeeper' covers (which were later included in the game!), is the one who connected me with Marie-Ève Ermel back when we covered Daughter of the Dark God last year.
I had been considering bringing back the Brawl theme for a while, which I first covered back in 2010, but there were many other May Madness remakes that had been edging it out. Then, a few months ago, Nicolas reached out to me and said that he and Marie-Ève had an idea to do the Brawl theme. Knowing they were both far more than capable, I immediately said 'let's do it!'.
They did a PHENOMENAL job and I'm extremely happy with how it turned out. Be sure to show them some love!
