Anytime you're having unprotected sex, there's always a possibility that you could get pregnant and here's some basics of fertility. You're most fertile on six days of the month; five days leading up to ovulation and on the day of ovulation. Most women ovulate 12-16 days before their next period's going to start. So let's say you have a normal cycle that lasts like 28-35 days. Then you're most likely ovulating 12-16 days before the period's going to begin. You're most fertile five days leading up to that day. You mentioned that you had a period from July 19-25 and then you had unprotected sex on the 28th. Let's just say you have a 28-day cycle, which is what a lot of women have. The first day of your cycle was on the 19th. That would make the sixth day of your cycle the 25th. The 28th would be about the 9th or 10th day of your cycle. Based on this information, you could get definitely have gotten pregnant or at least it greatly increases your chances because that could have been within your most fertile time frame. If your next period never comes, it would be best for you to take an over-the-counter pregnancy test about 5-7 days passed the point when you missed your period and if it's positive, congratulations! If it's negative and you continue to not have a period, it would be best to talk to your doctor. If it's positive, of course, you want to talk to your doctor too and make your first OB appointment. Good luck with everything and if you have any other questions for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family, too.
