Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia. Beograd which means the white fortress. It lies at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers in the north-central part of the country
The city grew up around an ancient fortress on the Kalemegdan headland that was encompassed on three sides by the Sava and the Danube.
