Dr Lyndon Cooper is currently the dean of the school of dentistry at the Virginia Commonwealth University. He is an expert in orofacial and dental rehabilitation, and oral biology. His research is patient orientated and focuses on advancing the areas of bone biology, adult stem cell bone regeneration and the clinical evaluation of dental implant therapies to improve patient care.Cooper earned a dental degree from New York University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Rochester. He earned a certificate in prosthodontics from Eastman Dental Center and completed a fellowship at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Prior to joining UIC, Cooper served on the faculty of the University of North Carolina.
