The intriguingly named Funky Cat is a new small electric hatchback from new Chinese brand Ora, which itself is part of the Great Wall company that a few years ago brought us the (also intriguingly named) Steed pickup truck. It'll cost you around £32,000, and for that, you'll get a 169bhp five-door electric supermini with a 45kWh battery that'll rapid charge at speeds up to 64kW, with a full charge earning you an official WLTP range figure of 193 miles.

The Fiat 500 Electric, meanwhile, is an appreciably smaller car with only three doors, so you could argue that it's not a direct rival to the Funky Cat. However, it'll cost you about the same, it has a very similar official range of 199 miles (from its 37kWH battery that rapid charges at up to 85kW), and it's also very style-focused, so we can see many buyers cross-shopping these two cars.
