This is a part of our effort to create an unplugged music series, with electronic tabla, under lockdown conditions for the listeners of our channel.
Tukhari is a raag in the category of less famous raags. According to intellectuals, Guru Nanak Dev Ji composed this raag. This raag contains Bani of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Ramdas Ji and Guru Arjun Dev Ji. This raag is an unparalled contribution to Indian Sangeet style. The form of Tukhari is that of a silently sitting Yogi and in the nature of this raag the pangs of separation can be seen. In this Raag Guru Nanak Devji’s composition 'Baramaha' is written in this raag. The raag shows both viyog (separation)and elements of sanyog(union).
This baithak was held at the initiative of Ved Gupta as a part of bazm e Khas foundation live concerts.
The idea behind this purely non -monetized upload is to preserve this collection of great music for all music lovers and students of Hindustani music.
