Air Commodore (Retd) Khalid Banuri called on India and Pakistan to reach new Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) related to nuclear stability, to foster a favourable atmosphere between the countries ahead of wider, political talks. He was speaking at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.
Air Commodore Banuri holds a rich and diverse 40 year-long experience of some of Pakistan’s most sensitive security policymaking. Until 2017, he spent 18 years with the Strategic Plans Division’s Arms Control & Disarmament Affairs (ACDA) retiring as Director-General of this branch after five years. He continues to advise the SPD since. Among other qualifications, he is an F-16 fighter jet pilot and a graduate of the UK’s Joint Services Command and Staff College.
