Russell Crowe stars as Jor-El in Man of Steel, but admits he's never seen any other Superman films. He thinks Henry Cavill is great though! "The only Superman connection I have is the 1950's TV show, shot in black and white, which was still playing in the 70s when I was a kid at primary school in Australia," Russell said. And with the franchise getting a new look, Russell chose not to look to the past for character ideas.
"The producer and director wanted to completely reboot the whole idea, so I thought if I go back and watch that stuff, I may unintentionally drag stuff from there into this and I didn't want to do it," he said.
