Ingredients
1. Puff pastry sheet - 1
2. Tutti Frutti / Candied papaya - 3/4 cup
3. Sugar - 1/3 cup
4. Dry Coconut - 1/2 cup (grated)
5. Green Cardomom - 4 whole
6. Melted butter - 2 tbsp
Procedure
* Thaw the puff pastry sheet for 30 minutes before use.
* Preheat the oven to 350°F.
* Crush the whole cardomom pods and remove the seeds. (trash the peel)
* Using a mortar and pestle crush the cardomom seeds into a fine powder.
* In a bowl, add the tutti frutti, sugar, dry coconut gratings and cardomom powder and mix well.
* Dust some flour on your working surface and roll the puff pastry sheet into a 1/8th of an inch thickness.
* Using a small plate, outline and cut a circle on the sheet.
* Then using a saucer or even just roughly, cut a small circle after rolling the left over pastry dough.
* Add a good amount of the tutti frutti mixture on the big circle and on top of the filling place the smaller sheet.
* Using your fingers, slowly fold the dough with the help of water and make sure the sheets are properly sealed.
* Then apply some melted butter on the top and place it on a baking sheet lined with an aluminium foil.
* Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 min.
* Brush some melted butter again half way through the baking.
* After its baked, let it cool and cut in quarters, and gobble! ;)
Note : You can use the left over filling for the left over pastry dough and make mini pies with it.
