In his talk, Mohammed Asif Iqbal shares a passionate account of his fight against a system prejudiced against persons with disability. The talk covers his struggles as a student as well as his triumph against all odds to achieve professional success.His commitment to seeking institutional change and using technology as an enabling tool to fight disability offers a refreshing take on the subject. Though blinded at the age of 16, Mohammed Asif Iqbal went on to achieve only great things in life. He became the first commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s college, Calcutta and also the first blind MBA(HR) from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Pune. Having an extensive knowledge in the HR and IT field, Asif has been a regular speaker at prestigious institutions like CII, SHRM, National NHRDN, and Assocham. He currently works at the reputed consulting firm, Price Waterhouse Coopers. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
